iPhone GPS navigation software demo video
Elad has already back to Israel , and he has taken a video on the real usage of the navigation software that is running on iphone.

in the demo video, you can see the software can provide the search address function, the real time update on the current location, a real time route correction if you miss the turn, and the map can rotate to always pointing to your moving direction.

Nice to meet Elad Keren - our friend from Israel
Nice to have chance to have a lunch with Elad Keren, one of our customer which come from Israel. He has a business trip to Hong Kong, so we take this chance to have a casual lunch and share some idea about iphone. But most important is that he will use the gps cable that bought from us, and test with the FreeMap when he back to Israel, and he promise that he will take some video on the usage of FreeMap. Preview on next GPS Live release
GPS Live is under rewrite and it will have the following improvement.
- Start / Pause button to indicate the update status.
- Toolbar for the GPS Live will be dragable
- additonal search bar for searching the Hong Kong address ( if you are developer and you want to include your home country , please contact us )
- built in webserver that can report the current location by provide the json result ( like: http://127.0.0.1:8080/location.json )

GPS Live beta released
Thanks for xGPS team provide the hint on how to integrate the control panel to the Maps.app , so that we can bindle our gps update application to the Maps.app interface.
We are now releasing the first iphone GPS program that support both real GPS and the fake GPS (using cell triangulation)

How to install :
Add a new source in installer
After installed the source , refresh the source will see a new Group call GPS,
and the application for this is called GPS Live
known issue: The icon for Start GPS Tracking doesn’t change to Stop GPS tracking after the GPS update started. This bug will be fix in the next release.
UPDATE: this application bundled with the gps console program in /usr/local/bin/igpsd/serial , for developer who want to make use of the real GPS , can free feel to use it in your program. If you do use it , please let us know, so that we can also list it in our installer repository for user to download.
Our update on the xgps source code will be release soon as a demo of how to use the gps console program. Please take a look later.

The price for the product is still unkonwn and when will it release is also unknown.

Information on how to use the Google map while offline
MapsOffline4iPhone has build a iphone app that can manage the Google Map Cache so that can use it during offline.

A findme replacement that can export the real gps location
For the current version, it can gather the GPS signal from serial cable, and output the same format like the findme does. For the next version it will detect if the gps is connected, if not , then it will gather the location from cell tower information , and look up in Google Map service like original findme does.
As many application is using findme to get the location, so by using the program that we provide here, those program can get the real GPS location, instead of the fake GPS location
